Notes from Gary

I am sitting at home after tonight's rehearsal thinking about what just happened. The effort of everyone of you from beginning to end never let up. The precision in playing together and the expressive reading of the music made each one of us focus even more. We could have never had this rehearsal even a year ago. I am excited by WHAT we have been able to play this year in programming music for the outdoor concerts but tonight's rehearsal blew me away because of HOW you played it. It didn't matter if it was note perfect. The music was alive.  You gave meaning to the sounds you were playing one relentless challenging event after another in this unique group experience we call band. What a wonderful, fun group of people to share ourselves and how grateful I am to be a part of it.

Remember Clarinet Ensemble will kick off the Summer Series at Pappas on July 25th and I will have a general program for our first full band performance on AUGUST 1ST at 6-6:45 at the pavilion on campus. Have the blue shirt available on Thursdays as we go through August.

Thank you,

Gary
