Gary Good is a Barberton Ohio native. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelors of Music Education. Following this he attended the University of Akron with an assistantship and completed his Masters of Music degree in piano.

In 1986, Gary moved to Boston where he remains active as a teacher, performer, and conductor. He was a member of the piano faculty at community music schools in Brookline, MA and Manchester, NH. Gary served as the Director of Music at the Grace Episcopal Church in Everett, MA for 17 years. He taught in Boston and Concord public schools before his 26 years of service at Milton Public Schools as High School Band Director, Administrator, and Teacher. You may have seen Gary at Boston Conservatory and Berkley College of Music as a regular guest lecturer in music education.

Gary is a strong advocate of “community music”. His dedication to advancing music in the public schools and the community was recognized by being the winner of the 2019 MMEA Lowell Mason Award.
